Dionne Brand (born January 7, 1953 in Trinidad and Tobago) is a Canadian poet, novelist, and non-fiction writer who focuses in issues on to black women. She was natural within Trinidad & Tobago & come to Canada to survey at a University of Toronto. She is an active fighter for the rights of marginalized communities, especially blacks & women.

Despite a similarity of their list, she should non exist as confused sustaining poet Di Brandt.
